Erik Anderson and myself left work a little early, around 1 or 2 p.m. when we heard of tornadoes dropping near Buffalo, MN . After a quick jont home to get some equipment I headed down to Erik's place to pick him up and head to the southwest to intercept these storms which at this point have also dropped a waterspout on Maple Lake and numerous funnels over Minnetonka and other western suburbs.
We headed west on 13 past Valley Fair when we hit pea to marble sized hail/slush. We noted people on Wild Thing as the hail shaft passed over them. Once we got to the the back side of the lowering in Shakopee, MN we were able to take the following picture.
